​The Affordable Care Act (ACA), a health care reform law signed into law by President Barack Obama in 2010. The ACA was intended to increase access to affordable care affordable healthcare for Americans, particularly those previously uninsured or underinsured.

Medicare

It is a health insurance program administered by the federal government that provides coverage to certain groups of people: ​

  • Younger people with disabilities: People under age 65 who have certain disabilities may be eligible for Medicare.

 

  • People with end-stage renal disease or certain chronic medical conditions: Medicare may also provide coverage for people with specific diseases. ​

 

Medicare lies in its ability to provide a safety net for older adults and certain vulnerable populations, promoting their health and well-being.
